Old tales from Hyderabad

The hustle and bustle of the city dissolves in the hindi song of the 70s floating from the speakers. The auto driver, ignoring our chat and laughter, drives his way through the busy traffic.

Two years in Hyderabad  exposed me to some wonderful things that I would cherish the rest of my life. Mud potteries from Shilparamam, dum biriyani from Bawarchi, night walks along the foot path of the necklace road with friends,  frankies and the ice gollas, the mmts rides sharing seats with the samosa vendor who sells the smallest of the samosas in the largest of the sack, badam milk from reddy sweets, and so many other things.
Night travels in a share auto was special, for we mostly sat on the back side of a clumpy auto and traveled in the opposite direction, catching a better view of the road side temples and the busy moving crowd.

A few of my favourite things from a city that's close to my heart.

badam milk from Reddy Sweets
Birla mandir- standing barefoot on the cool, white marble stone, watching the whole city glow in the night lights fuels me up. The big ladoos sold here furthers the joy.

A weekly respite:  Hyderabadi dum biriyani

Shilparamam- I have splurged 80% of my father's money here :)
