Ten o'clock bloomers

It's wonderful to see you bloom, all at once
splashing spots of violets
hidden a while ago and all set to fade away with the afternoon

I remember bringing you home, three years ago
the small almost dried-up stem, one wouldn't throw a glance at
 I knew you would survive

Tucked in my jute bag, you travelled along with me
Bearing the tedium of the journey and the summer heat,
you arrived , all exhausted

It didn't take you long to blossom, for you responded to our care
How well you adapted to the new surrounding and
splashed your colour!
I am glad you survived!
