The sultry six o clock Sunday evening
All I can see is the huge rain tree branched out into the sky. Thanks to the heat, the leaves look burnt out.The sepia-tinted atmosphere makes me wonder if it is a dream. This particular time of the day, I have dreaded all my life. Somehow the sepia brings with it unknown sorrows and puts into your mouth the saddest harmony notes. Let me for the time being blame it on the movies that exploit the sepia technique quite often.
As I look down from our veranda, I see a family enjoying the evening hours with their smart kid or in Irene's terms, wonder kid. We apparently named him so when the two year old's exceptional skill with electronic gadgets shocked us beyond surprise. I should allot another day's time to talk about wonder kids and probably just continue talking about the sultry Sunday evening!
The earth looks parched and the atmosphere too dry. We are eagerly waiting for some rain. It's the slight breeze from the heavenly rain tree that keeps the writing muse in me from getting a heat stroke.
Hah..finally the much awaited rain. It feels good! I see the family rushing to their home (I hope they are not cursing the rain that played spoil sport with their evening outing)
As the leaves sway and kiss each other, shaking off the day's exhaust I am glad that the rain had faded the sepia strokes and left a bright happy tone. It looks like the perfect frame for a painting or a photograph- The Pleasant Six o Clock Sunday Evening!
